Preview The Quiz

To preview the quiz:

  1. Click on the name of the quiz (have it open)
  2. "Quiz administration" > "Preview"
  3. "Quiz navigation" block: each square represents a a quiz item, either a question or a description.  In the following example:
    • Question 1 is not yet answered
    • Question 2 and 7 are gray indicating they have been answered and saved
    • Question 3 has a small red flag in the upper right corner indicating that who ever is accessing this quiz has flagged it.  Flags are only visible to the personaking/previewing the quiz.
  4. Questions can be edited from the preview pane.

  5. The 'Next' button saves the answers on this page and moves to the next page.
  6. Summary of attempt:

Student View

The initial student view of the quiz is the same as the instructors preview (see previous chapter for screenshots).

  1. Flagging of questions

Flagging is for students to mark certain questions... for example:
    • because they want to go back and check their answer before submitting the quiz.
    • because the results will only be released later, and they want to remember to check whether they got this question right.
    • because they want to ask their friend or teacher something relating to that question later.

  2. Submit all and finish:  Once the 'Submit all and Finish' button has been clicked, a confirmation dialogue box appears.....just to make sure students know that this is the end of their attempt smile

  3. Students can view their results if the quiz 'Review options" setting permit it.  Clicking on the quiz name gives an overview of their score and grade.  To see details of the attempt, students must click on the 'Review' link:

    Student View of quiz result:

    • In addition to the first question being answered incorrectly, the student has flagged it... perhaps to remind him/her self that they were unsure of the answer when they did the test or a reminder to ask the teacher about the question.

    • Depending upon the settings in the "Review" options, students may see their scores, correct answers, etc. as in the above example.
  4. Manually Graded Questions:

In the dialogue box below it clearly states that the exam contained questions (essay type) that have not yet been marked, therefore students are reminded that the score they see is not the final mark. (This new dialogue box is going to eliminate a lot of emails for you and angst for students. smile)
